Is there anyway i can unlock an iphone to use it on any carrier service?—by Nick

i want to get an iphone but i have verizon wireless and i want to know if there is a way to unlock the iphone so i can use it with the plan i already have.

You can unlock the iPhone to work with any GSM carrier.Unfortunately, Verizon is a CMDA carrier and therefore, is physically impossible for an iPhone to work with it (the receiver chip in the iPhone only picks up GSM radio as opposed to CMDA). Even hackers tried opening up the iPhone and putting a CMDA receiver from another phone in there…unfortunately, the receiver was too large.
