Samsung Juke Collection Digital Fans:
Press Release:on Wednesday October 03, 2007—Verizon Wireless announced the Samsung SCH-U470 Juke, a swivel phone with 2GB of internal storage for music and a scroll wheel for navigation. The Juke supports .MP3, .WMA, and unprotected .AAC music files, and the music player can be accessed without needing to open the phone. Aimed at the younger crowd, the Juke features a VGA-resolution camera with night mode, Bluetooth 2.0 with support for A2DP stereo headsets, and will be available exclusively from Verizon Wireless in red, blue, and teal.

The Samsung Juke also features GPS, with the ability to use Verizon’s VZ Navigator and Chaperone services, but it lacks any sort of 3G connectivity, meaning that it can not make use of Verizon’s V CAST services. The Samsung Juke is planned to be in stores by the end of November, 2007.

Samsung Juke Professional Reviews:

  • PCmag Reviewed the Samsung Juke SCH-u470 and gave out”Bottom Line: The Samsung Juke fuses a cute fashion phone with a WMA-compatible music player. But if you’re looking for a lot of additional features, you won’t find them here. PROS: Cute, unusual design. Seamless compatibility with Windows Media Player. CONS: Average call quality. Lacks a 3.5mm headset jack.”
  • MobileBurn Reviewed the Samsung Juke SCH-u470 and gave out”Despite a few minor flaws, Verizon’s Samsung music focused spinner is, as the song says, “a juke box hero” in my eyes. The built-in 2GB of internal storage proved adequate for storage of my music files - and then some. I had plenty of music to keep me entertained for hours and, better yet, with Samsung’s inclusion of Bluetooth stereo, I did this all without wires. This incredibly small and compact device also gave us good audio quality to boot. With the exclusion of 3G data on the Juke, users will definitely be able to keep wireless bills to a minimum. With all that being said, I give the Samsung Juke a “Highly Recommended” rating.”
  • CrunchGear Reviewed the Samsung Juke SCH-u470 and gave out”All in all, it seems like the Juke is suffering from an identity crisis. If it had been positioned as a regular old cell phone that just happened to play music that you transferred from your computer, it’d be a good deal for a good phone. But since it’s positioned as a music-centric phone, the lack of 3G and direct-to-device downloads coupled with the limited storage capacity makes it somewhat of an underachiever.”
