There’s a 2 megapixel camera, 240×320 pixel main display wth ambient light detector, microSD expandable memory, a multimedia player with external controls and an FM radio. It’s a quad-band GSM phone with 3G (UMTS 2100) capabilities, and as with other N-Series devices it runs the Symbian S60 operating system.

Nokia N76 Reviews:

Infosyncworld Reviewed Nokia N76 and gave out “Like the other recent N-series phones, the N76 is packed with features, such as VGA video recording, a music player capable of handling a plethora of file types, and FM radio. The phone is running the Symbian S60 Series 3 OS.It can accept standard headphones with its 3.5mm jack up top.The screen, a 2.4-inch, 16-million color display, showed the richest colors we’ve seen on recent phones, and both the internal and external display handled video-recording clearly, with no blur or pixel noise. “

Infosync Reviewed Nokia N76 and gave out “The Nokia N76 is a frustrating phone when you realize just how much better it must be abroad. The phone’s performance is a bit more zippy than the N75, and it includes niceties like a 3.5mm headphone jack and a slick design. Still, the lack of 3G support is a real let down, and though we hate it when carriers muck up the features on our favorite phones, in this case we wish a carrier would step in and make things better, like e-mail, IM and PlaysForSure support, all of which are better (or available) on the N75.”

CNET Reviewed Nokia N76 and gave out “The good: Dedicated multimedia playback buttons on the top LCD; 3.5mm headphone jack; quadband with 3G; external microSD card slot; loud onboard speakers. The bad: When plugged in the 3.5mm audio jack restricts the opening of the clamshell; requires SIM card tray; difficult to open clamshell with one hand; no Bluetooth stereo; image quality sub-par…”

PhoneArena Reviewed Nokia N76 and gave out “The N76 has a 2-megapixel camera on its back, which is a necessity nowadays. Its lens is neither autofocus, nor with Carl Zeiss branding, clearly showing that the camera is not the phone’s key feature. You can use either of the displays for a viewfinder, but it is recommended to use the internal one which is bigger and of higher quality…Thanks to the UMTS data and the QVGA resolution of the display, loading and viewing a standard HTML web pages is easy job…”

LaptopMag Reviewed Nokia N76 and gave out “Multimedia is this clamshell’s biggest strength. Music playback from the external stereo speakers was impressive, and we like the addition of a normal headphone jack. The N76 supports virtually every audio format under the sun, including AAC, MP3, and WMA filesWe did encounter a problem with the design: The 3.5mm jack is located on the top of the phone, so it’s impossible to completely open this clamshell while the headset is plugged in.”

Crunchgear Reviewed Nokia N76 and gave out “The phone itself is quite stylish with a 2-megapixel camera and bright chromed color scheme. It his 13mm thick has 26MB internal memory with a hot swappable microSD card slot. The N76 is kind of a “high-fashion” smartphone. Because it runs S60 you have just about everything you could ask for — mail, IM, Symbian app support. But because it looks like a RAZR on steroids, it won’t make you look like too much of a geek. A very nice trade-off.”

PCMag Reviewed Nokia N76 and gave out “The audio problems continue in phone mode. The N76 gets good reception on AT&T’s and T-Mobile’s EDGE networks. Since it’s an unlocked, quad-band phone, you just pop in your SIM card, and you’re ready to go with either of those carriers…The N76 has two cameras, but neither is very good. The VGA self-portrait camera takes watery low-res shots. The main 2-megapixel camera is fun to use, as you use the big front screen as a viewfinder, but shots are overexposed and bluish…”

Trusted Reviews Reviewed Nokia N76 and gave out “While I find it unwieldy, the overall size of the N76 does have two important advantages: the inside screen and number pad are both large. All in all, the numberpad is comfortable to use. It might be flat, but there is some give in the keys and you get a reassuring beep when one is pressed. The main camera is a 2-megapixel job. I can’t help feeling that for an N series this is below par. Apart from the problems I had framing pictures outdoors in bright sunshine, due to the poor outdoor screen visibility, the camera had trouble capturing colours accurately.”
