Nokia 6110 Navigator Professional Reviews:
- Cnet Reviewes Nokia 6110 Navigator and gives out ”
The good:
* Excellent sound quality
* Symbian OS now almost lag free
* Spring loaded slide is hours of mindless fun
* Sharp, bright screen
* 3G and HSDPA
* GPS satellite navigation is convenient to have around …
The bad:
* … but interface and screen is difficult to use in car
* Car mounting kit is extra
* Text-to-speech message reading is unintentionally funny
* No wireless or infrared
* Photos are ordinary, even for a mobile
* Shiny plastic body creaks and smudges easily
The bottomline:
A good 3G slide phone with an excellent screen and sound quality. It feels a little cheap in places, though, and its GPS navigation is highly compromised.”
- gsmarena Reviewes Nokia 6110 Navigator and gives out ”The Navigator is truly ambidextrous, offering great smartphone performance and full GPS functionality. Add the above average multimedia capabilities, and you have a tempting all-rounder. The crashes some Symbian phones just can’t seem to help are not an issue here. For the time of our review we experienced none of them. The software stability of the device looks great, considered we pushed the phone to its limits.”
- All About Symbian Reviewes Nokia 6110 Navigator and gives out ”The 6110 Navigator is a solid, stable S60 smartphone with a user-friendly and pretty reliable satellite navigation package built into it. Car users will get more out of the bundled sat nav application than walkers as the maps don’t adequately cover pedestrianised areas, but the maps and guides to local amenities are useful to everyone. It’s also worth mentioning again that you don’t have to use the bundled application, you can install a completely different sat nav package if you want to.
The relatively small screen size may be a worry for some people. However, the screen is high resolution and bright, and you can zoom out to any distance including the entire route or even the entire country. Plus, as stated above, it’s probably much safer if a driver relies on the spoken instructions rather than visual cues.”
- mobileburn Reviewes Nokia 6110 Navigator and gives out ”The Nokia 6110 Navigator, if nothing else, makes a very cheap and easy to use entry-level GPS navigation device. The fact that it is also a smartphone, and a very good one at that, just makes the package all the more sweet.
There really is very little not to like about the Nokia 6110. Sure, the exterior finish feels a little cheap, the microSD memory card is difficult to get out, and the screen could be a little larger, but overall the device is a very solid handset. Being an S60 smartphone, there is a wealth of applications available to expand the device, though many in the 6110 Navigator’s target market will never fully utilize its smartphone capabilities. This is not a huge problem, however, as the device is priced to be very competitive in the feature phone market, comparing favorably to almost all its competition.
In the end, the Nokia 6110 Navigator is a great alternative for people that cannot justify the cost of an N95 or that simply do not need all the features that particular handset provides. Take the N95, strip out the WiFi, lower the specifications of the camera, and package it a little differently, and you are basically left with the Nokia 6110. There is so little to fault about the 6110 that it would not be fair to award it anything except a Highly Recommended rating, as there really isn’t anything around that can give you such an integrated and useful package in this class. ”
