Press Release:August 13, 2007. LG and AT&T announced the impending availability of the new LG CU575 “Trax” music phone.

This mid-tier device comes equipped with a decent array of multimedia features, including external music controls and color display, stereo Bluetooth support, and a microSD memory card slot that can use cards of up to 4GB in capacity. All of that storage room can also be used for photos and videos shot with the phone’s 1.3 megapixel camera.
The Trax also supports AT&T’s Mobile Music service, which provides access to normal subscription based music services such as Napster and eMusic. The phone is also compatible with MobiTV and XM Radio Mobile, and even includes the Music ID application that can be used to identify songs heard over the radio.
The CU575 is a reasonably sized device that measures 15mm or so in thickness. That won’t set the world on fire, but it is still slim enough to slide easily enough into a pants pocket. The CU575’s 99g weight is also in the right ballpark. One of the best features of the Trax is its ability to work on so many different networks. The Trax supports GPRS and EDGE on all four GSM bands, and supports high-speed HSDPA data on the two North American UMTS bands. That solid 3G support should make using AT&T’s CV video service a snap, providing quick access to mobile content from CNN, iFilm, Comedy Central, and others. The Trax also supports AT&T’s Video Share service, which is a one-way live video calling system.
LG CU575 trax Reviews:
CNET Reviewed LG CU575 trax and gave out “The good: The LG Trax has a lightweight design with plenty of features, which include HSDPA support, a megapixel camera, and access to AT&T’s array of multimedia and broadband services. The bad: The LG Trax utilizes a strange, skinny touch pad for music player controls, and a terribly flat and crowded keypad that makes it tricky to navigate and dial. The bottom line: The LG Trax has a host of features that will please the multimedia hungry consumer, as long as you can see past its design flaws.”
