Samsung’s M110 keeps the promises it makes, though there aren’t so many of those. Dust and minor water resistance will appeal to those exposed to the elements, but its lack of features will turn the rest of us away.
Basic navigation about the M110’s keypad and menus will be familiar to anyone who has used a mid- or entry-level Samsung recently. It all works smoothly and intuitively enough, while the toughening-up process hasn’t got in the way of keyboard usability.
Samsung M110 Cell Phone
The Samsung M110 measures 109 mm x 48 mm x 17.9 mm and weighs 95g. Designed to take more than just the every day knocks and bumps, the Samsung Solid is encased an a tough rubber shell and will suit tradesmen, or those who indulge in extreme sports pursuits, or simply for someone who just needs a durable phone.
Samsung SGH-L870 Cell Phone
The Samsung SGH-L870 measures 103.5mm x 50.5mm x 13.5mm. It sports a 3 megapixel camera and microSD card slot, so it’s ready to capture the action. The handset also features a built-in FM radio, an advanced music player, and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support for stereo headsets.
In terms of calling features, the Slash is missing a few of our favorites. The phone has a solid, though not abusively loud speakerphone, as well as Bluetooth for handsfree calling.
Call quality was fairly good, though we did experience some static and ambient noise. Callers could hear just fine, and vice versa.
Samsung Slash Cell Phone
The Samsung Slash measures 97mm x 46mm x 16.7mm and weighs 85g. It features Bluetooth connectivity, a color display, voice dialing, Web access and a talk time of 3.5 hours at best.
The design is simple, although not as simple as the iPhone. The 3.2-inch touchscreen dominates the design, and there are a three buttons underneath this for those not completely ready to go full touch.
Samsung OMNIA Cell Phone
The Samsung OMNIA measures 112mm x 56.9mm x 12.5mm. This phone has an integrated 5 megapixel camera, GPS, FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi. For storing music, the Samsung Omnia comes with 8 gig or 16 gigs internal memroy. With Windows Mobile 6.1 support, the Samsung Omnia i900 comes with mobile Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Samsung SCH-W480 Cell Phone
The Samsung SCH-W480 measures 101.5mm x 52mm x 18.8mm and weighs 143g. The SCH-W480 Inner Zoom has a color display, a 5 Megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom, auto focus and face detection. The W480 is a 3.5G phone with HSDPA 7.2Mbps support. It supports MP3 playback, Bluetooth and up to 8GB of memory card.
