The device loads in about 30 seconds time. It’s got over 100 MBs of free RAM after fully loaded. The 400 Mhz CPU is very much visibly so faster than the 200 Mhz that my older QTek has.

OSNews Reviewed HTC P4550 Kaiser and gave out “Overall, this is a great smartphone. Possibly the best Windows Mobile phone in the market today for the price. It is not as sweet as an iPhone, but it is a phone that can definitely “do more” as there are over 20,000 applications for that platform. And that’s a big plus.
Pros:
* Triband 3G
* GPS
* WiFi
* Good autofocus camera
* Plenty of RAM
* Handy Today plugin
Cons:
* No flash light
* No FM radio
* Keyboard not easy to type
* USB port for headphones is non-standard”

The amount of storage capacity included as standard is, however, more generous at 256MB. After loading it up with email and contact info, there was 120.41MB left over for files, and 66.21MB left for applications.

TrustedReviews Reviewed HTC P4550 Kaiser and gave out “With the P4550, HTC has taken what was already a competent smartphone and thought really hard about how to make it better. The result is a handset that does pretty much everything you could possibly want a handset to do.
It’ll work anywhere in the world, has fast data connections, a qwerty keyboard for fast and comfortable messaging, a tilting screen and even a GPS receiver for satellite navigation. Most importantly HTC has managed to package it all up in a highly usable, well-constructed and not-too-tubby package.”

The most striking thing about the HTC TyTN II is its screen. This is, initially, a fairly standard, 240 x 320-pixel, 2.8-inch display.

ITReviews Reviewed HTC P4550 Kaiser and gave out “It is the tilting screen that steals the show as far as the HTC TyTN II is concerned, but there are other factors that draw us to it as well. The plentiful features, good mini keyboard and software extras all add up to make the TyTN II a strong contender in today’s mobile device arena.”

The T-Mobile Wing is a Pocket PC phone with Wi-Fi and a slide-out keyboard. It is one of the first models released with Windows Mobile 6 Professional.

Brighthand Reviewed T-Mobile Wing and gave out “One of the nice parts of this model is its external microSD card slot, making it easy to switch out cards.Microsoft has been steadily improving these applications over the years, and while the latest versions of these aren’t hugely improved over their predecessors, I like the changes that have been made.As it’s a 2.0 megapixel one, it is noticeably better than what you find in your average smartphone, and vastly better than the 0.3 MP camera in a typical “dumb” phone.”

The music application on a Sprint phone is the best feature. It is easy to look for a song by the genre or artist. The search function works very well and is very fast.

Gadgetnutz Reviewed HTC Mogul and gave out “The camera it self is nice, taking good quality photos of friends, family, and foliage. The video on it was great and helped me a lot when my camera ran out on a trip. Although the camera itself works well it takes a bit too long to load up. The touch screen works very well and the two free games that cam with it(Bubble Breaker and Solitaire) worked extremely well. When you slide they keyboard out the screen turns so you have a proper view but I found this to be very slow and annoying at times. The scrool wheel is PERFECT.”

Wireless options are reasonable without being a headline feature. GPRS and EDGE are practical for inbox synchronisation, although in the UK the latter is as much use as a steering wheel on a motorbike.

PCPro Review HTC Touch Review and gave out “The Touch is tantalising proof that software and hardware designers are fast approaching the stage where all you’ll need to control your phone is a set of reliable fingers and a touchscreen. But it isn’t there yet. It’s no good being able to start a text message application with your fingers if you can’t write the text message itself. And the same goes for browsing the internet, replying to emails and even simply browsing files.”

The HTC Touch is a very neatly designed device with a software front-end layered on top of Windows Mobile 6 rather than fully integrated into it, and it has far from leading-edge general specifications, although it does also sport a 2-megapixel camera and Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth.

ITReviews Reviewed HTC Touch and gave out “More innovative is what HTC calls the TouchFLO interface. You swipe a finger upwards from the bottom of the screen to the top and it turns up a new screen. Then swipe left-to-right or right-to-left to get a second screen and a third. The transition between screens is cute - you get the feeling a cube is rotating inside the HTC Touch in a sort of Tardis-like fashion.”

This new model runs Microsoft’s Windows Mobile operating system, but it includes a system that, like the iPhone, lets you perform many tasks by running your finger across the screen.

Brighthand Reviewed HTC Touch and gave out “The Touch is one of the slickest looking smartphones I’ve seen in a while. It uses a standard tablet shape, but its rounded corners and minimalist design really make it stand out of the crowd.The Touch’s 2.0 megapixel camera is a step above the 1.3 megapixel one you typically find in mobile phones these days.It handles still images quite well, but movement in videos tends to be a touch blurry. Both of these can be sent as MMS messages.”
