I had been looking forward for some time to an iPod with enough storage to hold a large number of high quality Apple lossless files. So it was a real disappointment that the sound quality of this new model was actually worse than before.
Pros:

• Sluggish/balky menus
• No docking station included
• Requires iTunes 7 or newer
• Might not be compatible with some accessories
The iPod Classic has very few new features to talk about. Support for video and music playback, as well as photos, podcasts, and video games, are virtually unchanged.
The home screen for the Photo menu is also a visual treat—there’s the split screen, but instead of floating album covers, you see photos from your library. The thumbnail menu is easy to scroll through, and setting up slide shows is pretty much the same as well. Putting your photos on shuffle and listening to some good tunes never gets old.

Although the playback screen offers all the info you’d want, most of the Sansa View’s interface is fairly uninspiring. You can set different wallpaper colors, but they all appear a bit washed out, and there’s no option to set a photo as your backdrop.

Style-wise, the Sansa View definitely falls into the understated category; its shiny black face isn’t unattractive, but neither is it eye-catching. The clear coat should do a reasonable job at protecting the player from scratches, but it also creates a dimming effect on the LCD, almost as if you’re looking through a very fine-mesh screen.
