whilst the H7 does come in at a surprisingly low price for a camera with this level of specification, it’s hard to see why anyone wouldn’t pay the extra for the H9 unless they were on a seriously tight budget.

DP Review reviewed the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H7 and gave out” if you want a genuinely affordable big zoom camera for snapping the family that you can leave on ‘full auto’ all the time - and you rarely print your pictures bigger than 6×4 inches - the H7 is (at as little as $350 online) certainly worth a closer look. But if you’ve got more exacting image quality standards, want to enlarge more or want to actually use all those advanced features I suspect that, like us, you’re going to find the H7 disappointing. At least the H9 has a great screen to take your mind off the fiddly controls and less-than-stellar results; the H7 is what it is - a budget model that, unfortunately, performs like one.”

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H7 will satiate zoom cravers with its 8.1 megapixels and 15x optical zoom lens. The H7 is the less expensive sibling of the Sony H9

DigitalCameraInfo reviewed the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H7 and gave out”The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H7 is yet another addition to the ultra-zoom market. This SLR-shaped digital camera comes with a solid set of exposure modes and an interface more reminiscent of compact models than SLRs. Many of the exposure modes and features are the same as the Sony H9, which costs almost a hundred dollars more. The H9 throws in a much better LCD screen and infrared technology for photographing wildlife at night, but if consumers can do without those things then they will be perfectly happy with the H7.”

Well after some pestering and persuasion I’ve finally got them to send me another one, this time it’s the Cyber-shot DSC-T100, the 8.1-megapixel, 5x zoom flagship of the T-series pocket compacts, which was launched in February this year.

Trusted Reviews Reviewed Sony Cybershot DSC-T100 and gave out”The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100 is an expensive camera for a relatively simple pocket compact, but it justifies its price with excellent build quality, elegant design, above average performance and superb image quality. It is an outstanding all-round snapshot camera, and if you can afford it you won’t be disappointed.

With the T100, Sony has increased the optical zoom to 5x and given the cameras HD output capabilties. The large 3 inch LCD provides plenty of space to frame your shots and review them later..

Digitalcamerareview Reviewed Sony Cybershot DSC-T100 and gave out”With their latest generation of cameras, Sony has reworked the user interface to look a little more polished and friendly. So far, I’m not a big fan. It’s definitely pretty and streamlines the number of buttons on the camera, but seems a little sluggish and navigating the menu is not always intuitive. As the review goes on, I’ll see if it grows on me at all.

Sony’s new point-and-shoot has a lovely design and takes excellent pictures, but it costs too much.

PCmag Reviewed Sony Cybershot DSC-T100 and gave out”Sadly, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100 costs more than $100 above competing ultracompact cameras, including the excellent Canon PowerShot SD1000. The DSC-T100 gives you more optical zoom power, but most users will find the SD1000 a better buy.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S650,This digicam is hampered by flat, oversaturated, and dark photos.

LapTopMag reviewed the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S650 and gave out”On our tests, colors looked a bit flat, and most shots were oversaturated. A test photo of a colleague in the office was too dark. Outdoor shots looked better with the exposure more in line. The DSC-S650 can also record VGA video at 30 fps”
