The Blackberry Pearl 8120 measures 4.21 x 1.97 x 0.55 inches and weighs 3.21 ounces. Its 990 mAh lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 4 hours of talk time, and up to 360 hours of digital standby time.

It operates on the 850/900/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE frequencies as well as Wi-Fi 802.11b/g networks using the T-Mobile HotSpot @Home service.

• TrustedReviews has reviewed Blackberry 8120 and given out ” With the Pearl 8120, RIM is clearly trying to push further into the consumer’s consciousness and retain its business fans too. The device doesn’t go far enough to capture all consumers - where’s the 3G and the oodles of internal memory, for example? But it does show that RIM is trying harder than ever to break out of its ‘businesses only’ box. Design-wise it’s on the button. Features-wise there is still a little way to go. And as a whole, it’s certainly recommended. ”

We’d have loved a GPS inside but given the Pearl’s very small size, there may well be a limit to how many features RIM can squeeze in. For those who aren’t wed to full QWERTY keyboards and prefer a small, sexy device for serious messaging, the new Pearl is an excellent choice. It’s fast, stable and easy to use. The multimedia features are growing up, and the once all-business BlackBerry can now ID songs, play XM Radio, act as in iPod stand-in and take quite good photos.”

But I wouldn’t be surprised to see a consumer model appear soon, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Pearl to someone seeking an e-mail-friendly handset that’s no slouch in the multimedia department.”
