The bottom line: We’re hard-pressed to find anything not to like about the Creative Zen. It’s a great option for anyone looking for a great-sounding, pocketable MP3 player with an excellent, video-capable screen and plenty of extra features.
The polished black ZEN weighs 2.1 ounces, measures 3.3 by 2.2 by 0.4 inches, and is dominated by a 2.5- inch, 320-by-240-pixel resolution TFT display—a half-inch bigger than the nano’s 2-inch screen. The front face feels a bit cluttered with buttons compared with the iriver clix gen 2, the upcoming Samsung P2, or any iPod model.

With an attractive 11.3mm thickness, this sleek player weighs a mere 65g, allowing you to carry it around easily. It’s got an 16 GB capacity and the ability to support different popular media formats.What’s more, you can add as much capacity as you want with its SD memory expansion slot.
The device’s unique XGA video-out, which terminates in a 15-pin analog VGA cable and a mono mini jack for audio, lets you hook up a larger monitor for office work.

As a phone, the SLM has strong reception, and sound quality is a bit above average. Voices are loud enough on both the earpiece and speakerphone but just a hair muddy.
At 0.8 inches thick, the Juke isn’t slim by any measure, but it makes up for that by being 1.2 inches narrow and a bit shiny. Folded closed, you can use it as a 2GB flash-based music player by pressing the center of its silvery scroll wheel and scrolling through your songs on the 128-by-220-pixel display.
The BlackJack II features 256MB of ROM and 128MB of RAM, with 87MB of free memory and 131MB of free storage available, both of which are welcome improvements over the original.
