Canon EOS 40D Newdigitalfans Collection
Building on the success of Canon’s perennially popular “prosumer” EOS 20D and 30D models, the EOS 40D advances the state-of-the-art for mid-range digital SLR cameras, making it a natural first choice for advanced amateur photographers and entry-level professionals, and an ideal second body for more established photo pros. Indeed, given the level of feature upgrades and improvements, technological wizardry, and user-requested creative controls, the Canon EOS 40D SLR’s “prosumer” appellation may refer more to its accessible price point than to the exceptional quality, clarity, and resolution of the images it creates.

From the camera’s newly enhanced, 10.1-megapixel CMOS imaging sensor (designed and manufactured by Canon) and its proprietary and super-efficient DIGIC III image processor, to its completely redesigned autofocus sensor and fast, 6.5 frame-per-second (fps) continuous shooting capability (for bursts of up to 75 Large/Fine JPEGs or 17 RAW images), the EOS 40D SLR puts the fun in functionality and makes serious photo business a positive pleasure. The Sony Ericsson S500i boasts good mid-range set of features, including a two megapixel camera, digital music player, expandable memory and an email client.

MobileChoice Reviewed Sony Ericsson S500i and gave out “The S500i is very easy to use and very easy to personalise, although we missed having a dedicated camera key. The music player, however, is a cinch to use.Although features like camera and music player are all present and correct on the S500i, they obviously don’t compare to Sony Ericsson’s Cybershot and Walkman phones. It’s certainly no slouch though.”

Both stainless steel armoured handsets have shown favour with the poseurs, City boys and nouveau riche.

MobileChoice Reviewed Nokia 8600 Luna and gave out “The 8600 Luna does pack Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) support for wireless streaming music to compatible headphones or speakers. This great performance just compounds the fact that the music player is wasted without expandable memory. Still, if you quickly get bored with the same old songs, you can turn to the built-in FM radio…Despite taking some photos in good and natural lighting conditions, the Luna抯 camera still struggled to produce decent photos. Highlights were a little blurred, while strong white areas were over saturated and overblown…”

One of the most notable features of the V9m is its external display. Music quality was quite agreeable. The single speaker at the bottom of the phone provided loud output and clarity.

CNET Reviewed Motorola Razr2 V9m and gave out “The good: The Motorola Razr2 V9m offers an updated, sexy design that features user-friendly controls with vibrating tactile feedback. The feature set is generous, and call and music quality are admirable. The bad: The Motorola Razr2 V9m is saddled with a low-resolution internal display and poor streaming-video quality. The bottom line: In a Razr-weary world, the Motorola Razr2 V9m surpassed our expectations by offering a fresh and dynamic new approach to the Razr line. Video performance was below par but the phone succeeded on other fronts. “

The phone feels very good in the hand,We found the construction of the phone overall pretty good, except two points: the keypad and the battery door.

OSNews Reviewed Sony Ericsson W580i and gave out ” Compare with the W810i,The advancements are: QVGA screen compared to W810i’s QCIF screen, Bluetooth 2.0 instead of 1.2, upgraded software with A2DP and PAN support, better Netfront memory management, much better Walkman. The disadvantages are: worse camera with no flash or autofocus, no IrDA, slightly worse battery life. Everything else is the same between the two phones, except the usage of an M2 card instead of Memory Stick Pro Duo. So, depending what you are after in terms of features, you can decide one against the other.”

The T-Mobile Wing is a Pocket PC phone with Wi-Fi and a slide-out keyboard. It is one of the first models released with Windows Mobile 6 Professional.

Brighthand Reviewed T-Mobile Wing and gave out “One of the nice parts of this model is its external microSD card slot, making it easy to switch out cards.Microsoft has been steadily improving these applications over the years, and while the latest versions of these aren’t hugely improved over their predecessors, I like the changes that have been made.As it’s a 2.0 megapixel one, it is noticeably better than what you find in your average smartphone, and vastly better than the 0.3 MP camera in a typical “dumb” phone.”
